Who COMLEX Level 1 Prep at PASS Is For

COMLEX Level 1 moved to pass/fail in 2022, so the goal is a clean first-attempt pass on an exam that tests osteopathic principles alongside the basic sciences. Our Level 1 course is for DO students who want that foundation rebuilt properly, and for those still deciding whether to sit the USMLE as well.

Alongside the core basic-science curriculum, in-person students get OMM-specific drills and additional lectures, and you sit two COMSAE practice exams with an assigned tutor reviewing your results each week. Because the underlying principles overlap heavily with USMLE Step 1, many of our DO students prepare for both from a single program — and we will give you a straight answer about whether that is worth doing for your particular application, rather than selling you a second course.

Dr. Francis’ Method, Applied to COMLEX Level 1

One Foundation, Two Exams

The basic science COMLEX Level 1 tests overlaps heavily with USMLE Step 1, so the same top-down approach applies: understand normal physiology, and pathology follows from it. What we add for DO students is the osteopathic layer, with OMM taught as part of the reasoning rather than bolted on at the end.

  • Physiology-first basic science
  • OMM integrated into the core curriculum
  • A single foundation if you are sitting both exams

A DO Cohort, Not an Afterthought

Osteopathic Prep That Is Actually Osteopathic

DO students are often handed allopathic material with a few OMM slides appended. Our in-person sessions include dedicated OMM drills and additional lectures, and you sit COMSAE practice exams rather than only NBME forms. You also get a straight answer on whether adding the USMLE is worth it for your application.

  • OMM drills and dedicated lectures
  • Two COMSAE practice exams
  • Guidance on the dual COMLEX and USMLE decision
  • Weekly tutoring with an assigned tutor

Yes, we can. We recommend that students who have had failed attempts attend our live lecture program instead of our online programs.
